You can Take the Journalist out of the Newsroom, but…
Bev’s approach to media relations is informed by her 15 years' experience as a professional journalist. She has been a freelance magazine writer, a newspaper staff writer, a news correspondent and a copy editor. Editors frequently praise Bev’s crisp, creative writing style and her strong news sense.
Impassioned Campaign Leadership
Bev’s superb oral and written communication skills helped her plan and execute a grassroots child drowning prevention campaign. To educate the public about the risk of child drowning, Bev placed numerous stories in regional and national press, authored several op-ed columns and was a guest on Sally Jessy Raphael, a nationally televised talk show. She also forged strategic partnerships with child health and safety advocates who helped her lobby for a state-wide swimming pool barrier code.
Bev holds an M.A. in journalism from Penn State University and a B.A. in English from Arcadia University.
